Two and Three and a Mustard Seed

by W. Chaz Glass

Matthew 17:20 and 18:18-20 fit together like spiritual blocks and reflect the functions of the Church.

Gathering together, even in small numbers, holds significant spiritual power. Gatherings create an environment where we can collectively bind and loose, and where we can ask, request, and intercede regarding matters pertaining to the operation and function of the kingdom, which require spiritual intervention and power from Christ.

Holy, divine spiritual power is amplified when we gather together with even a mustard seed of faith. The disciples were sent out in pairs as witnesses to the message and testimony they were each sharing, similar to the two witnesses in Revelation. Love draws us, and collectively we invoke the presence of Christ, who supplies the power and anointing to bind and loose, degree and declare, for life and death are in the power of the tongue.

With that, we pray His Word to Him, for that is all we can put faith in. So with a mustard seed of faith, we gather touching and agreeing on what the Word says.

I compiled verses from Psalm 119 into a prayer. I will compile others, but this can be a prayed together for any situation. Unified we can cast any mountain into the sea. So let 2-3 gather and believe that the prayers of the righteous availeth much.

Once prayed, listen for God to speak and follow His instructions.

Lord, how can I keep my way pure?

By living according to Your Word.

With all my heart, I seek You;

Don’t let me stray from Your commands.

I’ve hidden Your Word in my heart,

So that I might not sin against You.

Blessed are You, O Lord;

Teach me Your ways.

Remember Your promise to me, Your servant,

The promise that gives me hope.

In my suffering, this is my comfort:

That Your Word brings me life.

I cry out to You with all my heart;

Answer me, O Lord!

I will follow Your decrees.

I cry out to You; save me,

And I will keep Your statutes.

I rise before dawn and cry for help;

I wait expectantly for Your Word.

Through the night, I meditate on Your promise.

Hear my voice, O Lord, according to Your unfailing love;

Give me life, according to Your justice.

Sustain me, as You promised, so that I may live;

Don’t let my hope be crushed.

Let my cry come before You, O Lord;

Give me understanding according to Your Word.

Let my plea come before You;

Deliver me according to Your promise.

Let my lips overflow with praise,

For You teach me Your decrees.

Let my tongue sing of Your Word,

For all Your commands are righteous.

Let Your hand be ready to help me,

For I have chosen to follow Your precepts.

I long for Your salvation, O Lord,

And Your law is my delight.

Let me live so that I may praise You,

And may Your laws sustain me.
