The Chosen Catalyst

I am dismayed by the number of “prophets” both within and outside the CN movement declaring that our president is “chosen” by the Almighty. The spiritual Rubik’s Cube began rotating. Could it be that these prophetic voices are sensing something real—yet misinterpreting its purpose? Rather than being a messianic figure or the leader of a national revival, the president may instead be the catalyst for a global awakening. A leader’s unpredictable, erratic, imperialistic nature, and the unintended consequences of their actions—could serve as a catalyst for revival. Rather than being the one to lead a nation back to the Promised Land, such a leader might inadvertently trigger a revival by driving people to seek hope and answers in the kingdom of God.

This explains why so many prophetic voices sense something significant about him while missing the true nature of his role. They see a leader who will restore Christian values and usher in renewal, but what if his presidency is actually a sifting process—one that exposes corruption in the church and misplaced faith, and forces believers to place their trust in Christ rather than government? His administration has ignited division and economic instability, and challenged the constitution. In addition, his impact is global. If revival is coming, as so many proclaim, then it will not be political but spiritual, driven by the desperation of those seeking meaning in the midst of chaos. However, those blinded by political and national idolatry fail to see it.

The Bible tells us that Nebuchadnezzar and Cyrus were instruments of God’s will—not because they were righteous, but because they played a role in fulfilling God’s larger purposes. In the New Testament, the oppressive rule of Rome provided the fertile ground for both Jesus’ ministry and the explosive growth of the early Church. Revivals in history were sparked by economic collapses, wars, moral decline, famine, disease, when people, disillusioned by world powers, began flocking to the church seeking eternal truth.

If the president is indeed “chosen,” it may not be to lead revival himself, but to create conditions that force people to seek one. If history is any indication, the instability we are witnessing is not the birth of a new political era, but the beginning of a spiritual harvest.

Rather than looking to a political leader to “bring revival,” believers must recognize that the revival has begun—just not in the way they expected. The conditions are creating a spiritual hunger. The body must see and understand and respond to this; the church has a critical role to play. As a matter of fact, the church exists for times such as this. Only Christ has the words of eternal life; He is the living bread their spiritual man desperately needs. We are His body, the source of natural and spiritual provision in the earth.

We must not grow weary in this final hour of the vineyard. We must pray that we become strong fountains of living water for parched souls and grab as many bundles as we can. If God brought the catalyst, that means the power of the Holy Spirit is blowing as well to bring in the harvest. So let the ground shake, for we are anchored in Christ.
