Modern Temple Series Introduction

Have you ever entered a place and felt an unexplainable discomfort in your spirit? Perhaps it was a casino, a nightclub, or even a digital space like social media. You couldn’t quite put it into words, but something about the atmosphere seemed heavy, or even hostile.

In the ancient world, temples dedicated to false gods were unmistakable. Towering structures, elaborate rituals, and devoted worshipers made their purpose clear. But what if I told you those temples didn’t disappear—they just evolved? Today, the principalities and powers that operated behind those ancient temples are alive and active, manifesting in new ways. These modern temples may not look like marble edifices with carved idols, but their influence is just as real, and their reach is far greater.

The Bible warns us about participating in idolatry, even indirectly. Revelation 2:14 and 20 speak of eating food sacrificed to idols—an act of compromise that blurred the lines between worshiping God and bowing to the world’s systems. For many, these verses feel distant and irrelevant, tied to a historical context that no longer applies. But the truth is, the spiritual dynamics of idolatry remain unchanged.

Modern temples are all around us. They are the places where people pour out their time, money, attention, and even identity in exchange for pleasures, false promises, and temporary escape. They exist in physical spaces like casinos and strip clubs, but also in digital realms and entertainment venues

This modern temple series will uncover the hidden strongholds in our culture, offering fresh insight into how ancient idolatry has found new expression in the world today. Together, we’ll explore what makes these spaces spiritual battlegrounds and how the Church is called to engage.

As we begin this journey, my prayer is that the Holy Spirit will give you eyes to see and ears to hear, helping you recognize the spiritual dynamics at work in modern temples and equipping you to stand firm as a light in the darkness.

When we look at Pro teams of football, baseball , basketball ,hockey , soccer , including pro women’s sports the are idolized as gods with a cult following! We don’t look at the violence and vitriolic conduct of heavy metal and rock groups! There’s is a demonic nature to some of the rap groups! There is music by different rock groups or artists that have a high suicidal rate attached to them ! We are living in a day when everyone does what seems right in their own mind .We need to pray without ceasing ! We are living in perilous times !
